About the Homicide Report

The Homicide Report is a database of all reported homicides in the Richmond region since January 2007. Users can search the database several ways, including by date range, name of the deceased or cause of death.

The reported location of the homicide is plotted on an interactive map. On the map, click the red pushpins to see the victim’s photo, if available, and more information.

The “Details” link in each record leads to more information about the crime, our coverage and an archive page for each homicide victim where users can leave comments or remembrances.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch strives to keep this database as accurate as possible. Report discrepancies to Chris Young at 804-649-6754 or Mark Bowes at 804-649-6450, or by e-mail. Victims’ families can also contact the newsroom to send a photo or provide more information.
