When a simple Get Well Soon or Happy Birthday card doesn’t suffice, what about a “Has anyone seen Bill Bolling?” e-card.
The Democratic Party of Virginia released a web site today, http://www.virginiaecards.com, with a crop of snarky cards featuring illustrations of Gov. Bob McDonnell and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli with sayings like: “Have a Nice Summer! Enjoy the Chesapeake Bay while you still can ...”
There’s Cuccinelli: “Congratulations! Great job getting into college. If you disagree with any of your professors, just sue them” and McDonnell: “Nice work Ken .... I should have voted for Steve Shannon.” (Cuccinelli beat Shannon, a Democrat, for AG.)
They hit on several of the flash points between the parties—offshore drilling, federal health care reform, finding a fix for state roads—among other things.
While the Democrats find the cards cute, it’s apparently also getting a laugh with state Republicans. J. Garren Shipley, spokesman for the Republican Party of Virginia quipped: “Because if you truly want to say you’re politically irrelevant, what better way to do it than with an e-card?”
