With a flick of the TV remote, constituents of Rep. Jim Moran, D-8th, can watch the Congressman on demand.
Moran today launched his own local information and news channel, meant to “go beyond the traditional sound bite,” according to Moran’s office.
Titles for the first installment of Jim Moran OnDemand include “Meet Jim Moran,” “On Northern Virginia,” “Helping You,” “On the Environment” and “On Iraq and Afghanistan.”
“Given Northern Virginia’s mobile, fast-moving population, this is proactive way to supply information and reach out to new residents on an ongoing basis,” Moran said.
The programming is offered through a partnership between iConstituent and local cable providers. It costs about two cents per OnDemand subscriber. Moran’s office estimates Northern Virginia has more than 114,000 OnDemand subscribers through Comcast, Cox, and Via Media.
