Because we know you just can’t get enough of everybody’s favorite special teams position.

The Redskins have reportedly settled with punter Durant Brooks. That means that he will not be placed on the injured reserve list and is now a free agent in the NFL. Brooks was a talented college kicker who, if he spends the remainder of the year working out, should be able to get a look with a team next fall.

Meanwhile new punter Ryan Plackemeier drew mixed reviews for his opening performance. Coach Jim Zorn gushed about how great he was, while the fans got a little restless after a short third-quarter kick. Plackemeier excelled at pinning the Browns inside the 20, but struggled a little on longer kicks. His first punt should have been downed on the one-yard line but the Redskins player waiting for it lost the ball on the bounce—can’t hold that against Plack’.

More on various injuries later today including a look at the team’s new backfield of Portis/Cartwright/Alexander.
