Weekend Sports Weather Update

Forget about those mid-70s Thursday night in Miami, where Virginia Tech and the Hurricanes meet in an ACC matchup, it won’t be anything close to that in our area this weekend.
While it should be in the low 60s for kickoff of the high-school playoff games, precipitation will be falling, so you’ll need rain gear and an umbrella to cheer on your favorite team.
On Saturday morning, for the SunTrust Richmond Marathon, temps should still be in the lower 60s and rain is likely for the 8 a.m. start. The streets will be slippery, so be careful if you’re going the full 26.2-mile distance.
It will probably still be raining in mid-afternoon, when the University of Richmond meets Delaware in a Colonial Athletic Association game at UR Stadium. Temperatures should top out in the mid-60s around kickoff at 3:30.
In Harrisonburg, where top-ranked James Madison and No. 12 William and Mary tangle in another CAA matchup, expect showers and temperatures in the mid-50s for the 1:30 kickoff.
For Sunday night’s NFC showdown between the Redskins and Cowboys in Washington, the forecast calls for temps falling into the upper 30s with windy conditions at FedEx Field. Bundle up!
