This email from the people at Wintergreen Resort hit the inbox last night:
SNOWMAKING HAS BEGUN AT WINTERGREEN RESORT
We are making snow in the mountains! The snowmaking crew cranked up the snow guns today and white, fluffy snow has been coming down. A beautiful white carpet started to appear last night at 8:30 pm.
With the forecast for cold temperatures over the next two weeks, we plan to continue making as much snow as we can. The weather forecasters all agree that this week and next week look to be colder than normal. They predict a lot of good snowmaking opportunities through the end of the month and into December.
With this in mind, we hope to open our tubing park, The Plunge for the Thanksgiving weekend beginning on Friday, November 28, 2008.

Our projected opening date is December 12, but you never know, it could be earlier this year. We certainly hope so!
