Torrance 11, Western Branch 10

Nathan Critchett hit a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring Travis Martizia and sending Torrance, Calif. (3-0) to an 11-10 win over Western Branch, Va.

The loss eliminates Western Branch (1-2) from the tournament.

Western Branch held a 10-5 lead going into the bottom of the sixth before Torrance scored five runs in the sixth inning to tie the game, and one more in the seventh to win it.

Konnor Smith and Martizia each had two hits for Torrance, whose lineup was hot from top to bottom. Ten different batters got at least one base hit for Torrance.

Tucker Shaver went 3 for 3 with three runs scored for Western Branch.

Kristen Creekmore, who plays second base for Western Branch, became the first female to ever compete in the Bronco-11 World Series.
