U.S. v. Germany in back game for the Americans, with a roster peppered with Virginians and former ODU players. U.S. has two ties. German are the defending Olympic champs.
Stadium is part of the humongous Olympic Green. It’s on the North End of the campus. For field hockey, it’s a temporary stadium with, as per the rules, artificial turf. A big green oblong under the always hazy sky. Game isn’t decisive in any way, but will go a long way in showing how strong this surprising U.S. team can be before it’s over.
