The Redskins clubhouse, minus one important name
Michael Phillips
Nov 12, 2008

Defensive end Jason Taylor was walking around the clubhouse in Uggs slippers. “This ain’t Miami,“ he said. “It’s cold.“

Not seen in the clubhouse was Clinton Portis, who we’re told was off getting treatment for his MCL sprain. He’ll be with the team in practice today, though likely not practicing.

“I don’t expect him to miss the game,“ fullback Mike Sellers said. “He’s a competitor. That’s the type of guy he is.“

Others in the locker room were more cautious, though word is that backup Ladell Betts is recovering nicely from his injury and will have some sort of role this week, assuming he holds up in practice. Shaun Alexander said he is beginning to feel comfortable with the team, and that the first four weeks of his Redskins tenure were “like the preseason.“ Rounding off the running back roundup, Rock Cartwright will take a lot of carries in practice this week, but that’s nothing new for him, he said.

Also of note is Santana Moss, who said he’s “feeling way better than I did during the Monday night game.“

More updates when practice begins shortly.
