TD Olympic Blog: Waiting for Yao to meet Kobe, et al

Yao Ming is huge in China. Of course, he is huge where ever he goes, but the 7-6 Houston Rockets center is THE national sports hero. That was evident as he carried the Chinese flag for the second time in a row at Opening Ceremonies Friday.

Tonight in the oh-so-creatively-named Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium, Yao and his supporting Gang of Four will attempt to upset Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and the rest of the NBA All-Stars.

After spending the morning watching the sublime Michael Phelps, I’m eager to see how hysterical this arena becomes.

I’ll keep you posted.
