Sprint Cup practice at Lowe’s Motor Speedway

CONCORD, N.C.—So far, It’s been a rough practice for some Chase drivers. Kyle Busch and Clint Bowyer have both suffered slight damaged to their cars by brushing the wall.
However, points leader Jimmie Johnson is having a fun time during Happy Hour. He has the fastest practice time with a speed of 183.007 mph.
The 1.5-mile racetrack also claimed as victims Sam Hornish and Brian Vickers. Both hit the wall, with Hornish tearing up the right side of his No. 77 Dodge which will force him into a backup car and to the back of the field tomorrow night.
“The car got a little bit loose. There is som nay different lines you can take, and soon as I get into the line the back end got loose,“ Hornish said. “We’ll go to the back-up car, but we won’t be able to get back out today.“
Matt Kenseth, ninth in the Chase, spent most of the practice session in the garage working on the setup of the No. 17. He’s frustrated with how the car is handling.
Denny Hamlin, the former Chesterfield resident, has a fast lap of 179.886. He hasn’t shown any affects of a crash at Talladega Superspeedway which hospitalized with a sore foot.
