Not sure how much of this will appear in tomorrow’s print edition (what with limited space and all), so we’ll give it to you here in its original form ...

Sophomore reserve running back Elan Lewis will miss the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Thursday during conditioning drills. He will undergo surgery next week and has a chance to return next spring. Lewis first hurt the knee at Phoebus High in Hampton, then suffered a partial tear in the spring, after which he underwent arthroscopic surgery. The second-ranked recruit in the state coming out of high school, Lewis had 28 carries last year for 47 yards and a touchdown. … Senior cornerback Roland Minor is not practicing with the team as he concentrates on his academics. Beamer expects to know about Minor’s status after the second summer school session ends next Saturday. … Tech is still waiting for the NCAA to clear offensive line recruit William Alvarez.
