VCU coach Shaka Smart saluted the strong contingent of Rams fans who made the trip to William and Mary Wednesday night.
 
    VCU had a significant portion of the crowd of 2,506.
    “We’re just so fortunate to have the fans that we have,” Smart said after VCU’s 87-78 win. “I don’t know how many VCU fans were here, but there were a whole lot of them. They were loud and they were boisterous and they supported us.

    “Every time that we go to an opposing arena, I’m reminded of how special an opportunity we have to coach and play at VCU.”
