Remarkable Trees of Virginia
Andy Thompson
Nov 28, 2008

Today’s column was about a recently released book—Remarkable Trees of Virginia—put out by the University of Virginia Press. The book is the product of fours years of work by authors Nancy Ross Hugo, Jeff Kirwan and photographer Robert Llewellyn. Click here to hear an interview with the coauthors.

Here are some other fun tree links:

American Forest’s register of national champion trees

The Virginia Big Tree Program, run by Kirwan.

And a favorite book of mine, The Wild Trees by Richard Preston. It’s about the scientists and other assorted nuts who made it their mission to climb and study the world’s tallest trees
