Redskins tight end coach retires

Breaking news, straight from the team….

The Washington Redskins today announced that Tight Ends Coach Rennie Simmons has retired following 27 seasons as an assistant coach in the National Football League, including 18 with the Redskins. In addition, Defensive Quality Control Coach Arthur Smith has left the organization to pursue a career in the military.

“We had a great five years together,” Redskins Owner Daniel M. Snyder said. “We will miss Rennie dearly and he will always be a Redskin.”
