Preparing for a somber week in Ashburn

After two off days to recharge and rest up, the Redskins are back on the practice fields in Ashburn today. There’s a big game to prepare for against the Giants, but also a somber reminder of the past. A year ago today, Sean Taylor was shot in his Miami-area home. Tomorrow will be the anniversary of his death, and Sunday he will be added to the Redskins Ring of Honor.
Taylor’s locker has been preserved at Redskins Park, sitting between Clinton Portis and Santana Moss. His influence still looms large.
I’ll have all the updates for you from Ashburn today - football and otherwise. ESPN the Magazine ran a story in its most recent issue called “Living Scared“ that seems to capture well the sentiment among NFL players.
