Here’s an interesting column by Irene Nolan, of the Island Free Press, about the current state of affairs regarding off-road vehicle access on Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands.

Ms Nolan does treat the whole mess quite fairly. Judging by the letter to the editor down there, she represents the middle of the road opinion. There is commentary from all over the country in her on-line newspaper and by far that opinion is against the consent decree.
If you agree call or wright your Senator (bill 3113) or your Representative (bill 6233) and give them your opinion . These two bills are designed to give control back to the National Park Service.
