Mexico 10, Burleson 9

Azael Lopez hit a sixth-inning single, stole second and third and scored on a Jose Luis Rodriguez double to tie the game at 9. Rodriguez then scored on a single by Jose Del Placio as Mexico (3-1) defeated Burleson, Texas (2-2) 10-9 in the semifinals.

That sets up a championship game between Torrance, Calif. and Mexico. For the second straight year, the Bronco-11 World Series is a matchup of a team from Texas versus a team from Mexico.

Lopez went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and Rodriguez went 4 for 4 with tw runs scored. Mexico edged Burleson in a heavily offensive game – Mexico had 19 hits to Burleson’s 16.

Adam Oviedo finished 4 for 4 with three runs and three RBI for Texas.
