L.C. Bird has three players who could go Division I: Xavier Myles, James Santiago, and Anthony Harris.

Xavier MylesThe senior plays DE, but only weighs 190 lbs and stands 5-10. So that means colleges are going to have to find another place for him.
“In college he’s a linebacker,“ coach David Bedwell said. Myles runs a 4.5, so that’s fast enough for him to play defensive back. But Myles isn’t as interested in that.
“I like contact,” Myles said.
A few teams are interested in Myles as a DE, but UR likes him as a safety. So he really could end up anywhere. He’s limited right now, playing out of position, but talent exposes itself at any position, so college coaches will definitely find a spot for Myles.
Myles is going to take some visits soon, starting with UR and other local schools. He hasn’t received any offers yet. In addition to Richmond, ODU, Liberty, Buffalo, and JMU are interested in Myles. All the D-III’s want him, Bedwell said. He also said that any D-II school would be crazy not to recruit him with the ability and grades Myles has.

James Santiago
He’s a junior linebacker. Santiago stands 5-11, 200 lbs. His father, though, is 6-6 and Santiago says he hasn’t hit his growth spurt yet. It’s still early in Santiago’s recruiting game because Bedwell says he needs to get his grades up. Bedwell predicts Santiago will end up somewhere in Division I FCS or Division II.
Regarding Myles and Santiago, Bedwell said: “I don’t think either one of these kids are Division I super star players. But they’re college football players. They’re going to play college football somewhere.“
If Santiago goes D-II, he’ll be a big fish in a little pond, Bedwell said.
Anthony HarrisHe is a 6-3, 190-lb junior quarterback / defensive back and probably has the best shot at going D-I. He’ll play DB in college. He’s got the right height and size for it. Harris got a lot of interest as of late, from JMU, UR, Delaware and other CAA schools.
To make things more interesting, Virginia Tech is interested in Harris as a basketball player.

Xavier Myles, James Santiago, and Anthony Harris are all headed to college some way or another, and probably all to play defense
