Jim Zorn press conference - Oct. 20
Michael Phillips
Oct 20, 2008

Notes from today’s chat with coach:

—Clinton Portis is sore, but will be fine. “We treated several things,“ Zorn said. “Foot, hip, shin, ankle. He’s carrying a big load, so he may need a little bit of a rest (this week in practice) – I’m willing to give it to him for sure.“

—Jason Campbell played through some groin pain, and Zorn said he noticed it. “He was noticeably inaccurate on several throws that I felt that he should have hit,“ the coach said. “But the thing that was great was that he continually pushed, made some big plays and kept us in the ballgame.“

—Shawn Springs will remain questionable this week with a calf injury, and Fred Smoot has a groin injury that “may need to be nursed,“ but the rest of the secondary should be fine this week.

—Zorn had a special hat tip for Casey Rabach. “He went to heroics really to block that physical of a player (Shaun Rogers). He was tough and he was explosive. I tip my hat to what Casey did. Because of their defensive configuration, Casey had to block him mano y mano, and it was hard.“

—If you thought the Rams were a trap game, get ready for the Lions: “At 0-6 and playing well in all of their games, this is going to be the most dangerous team in the National Football League,“ Zorn said. “It’s the score that’s made the difference for them, not their plans.“
