Jun 15, 2010

Virginia Tech has received its third football commitment for the Class of 2011, from Christian Reeves, a 6-3, 210-pound tight end from Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Ga. Reeves also had scholarship offers from Air Force, Buffalo, Central Florida, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan, according to recruiting website Rivals.com.

Reeves joins Kris Harley and Ronny Vandyke on Tech’s 2011 commitment list.

Harley is a 6-2, 265-pound defensive tackle from Warren Central High in Indianapolis, the same school that produced current Tech tailback Darren Evans. Harley is rated by Rivals as the 19th-best defensive tackle in his class. His other scholarship offers included Southern California, Oklahoma, Purdue, North Carolina, Nebraska, Michigan, Iowa and Wake Forest.

Vandyke is a 6-3, 185-pound safety from South County Secondary in Lorton. Rivals ranks him as the 35th-best safety in his class. His other scholarship offers included Boston College, Maryland, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Rutgers and Virginia.

Recruits cannot sign national letters of intent with schools until Feb. 2.
