Hacks on the radio
Darryl Slater
Aug 03, 2010

So maybe (OK, definitely) it isn’t as edgy as a Baba Booey prank phone call, ala Howard Stern, but radio host Sean Bielawski has decided to add an element to his show that, hopefully, you’ll find interesting.

Bielawski has an eponymous and terrific show on ESPN Blacksburg that airs from 4-6 p.m. weekdays. This football season, he will bring me and Kyle Tucker of The Virginian-Pilot into the studio for an hour, 5-6 Thursdays, to talk Virginia Tech football, basketball and jai alai (or at least two of those three).

Not sure what to expect from the experience, but I understand our segment will include some clips of post-practice interviews with Hokies players and coaches, a phone-in guest or two and perhaps even some semi-coherent analysis from me and Tucker. If nothing else, it’ll be a fun way to spend a Thursday evening.

If you’d like to join us, you can listen on your radio dial (1430 AM, 94.1 FM) or on the Interwebs at espnblacksburg.com.

The segment debuts this Thursday, the day before Tech begins preseason practices.
