First half: Hofstra vs. Towson

Halftime, Towson leads 31-10 The day starts with a yawner at the Coliseum. Towson is dominating all aspects of the game, and even Anthony Grant’s assistants have lost interest and started reading today’s Times-Dispatch. Hofstra’s Antoine Agudio, usually a potent scorer, hasn’t found his shooting touch yet.
2:44, Towson leads 23-10 The Tigers made their first run without forward Junior Hairston, who is still fighting off a back injury. He entered the game and the balance tipped even further toward Towson. Hofstra has to call a timeout after Hairston blocks a shot inside and hits a 3-pointer on the other end.
6:48, Towson leads 15-8 Jonathan Pease, a 6-6 forward, hits back-to-back threes for Towson. He’s fed by junior forward Tony Durant, whose younger brother Kevin was named NCAA Player of the Year last year. It’s your typical Peyton/Eli situation, except neither of them have been in bad commercials for Oreos.
11:25, Towson leads 9-8 Towson fans pulled the old “fake shot clock violation,“ where they chanted three, two one while the shot clock was nowhere near it. Hofstra’s Antoine Agudio bit. Towson is up to five fouls compared to just two for Hofstra.
15:57, Towson leads 7-6 And we’re underway. As the day goes on, we plan on learning all sorts of cool blog tricks. Until then, all you get is words arranged to form sentences.
Just a smattering of fans on hand for this one. VCU fans apparently didn’t feel the need to drop by and do some advance scouting. Six fouls in the first four minutes as both teams feel the need to assert control inside.
