LSU has five players who were named first-team all-SEC in the preseason selections by the league’s coaches: OL Will Arnold, WR Early Doucet, DT Glenn Dorsey, LB Ali Highsmith and DB Chevis Jackson.

Four more LSU players made the second team: C Brett Helms, DL Tyson Jackson, LB Darryl Beckwith and DB Jonathan Zenon.

So keep an eye on those guys come Saturday.

QUESTION: Any of you guys planning to make the trip down there?

Because I’m such a good company man, I scored a reasonably priced flight that leaves at 12:45 p.m. Friday out of Greensboro. After a connection in Memphis, I land in Baton Rouge at 3:47 p.m., Central Time. The flight home Sunday will be brutal: 8:15 a.m. out of Baton Rouge, connect in Houston, back in Greensboro at 1:47 p.m. for the drive back to Blacksburg.
