At the risk of turning this blog into my own personal play thing (as I know some Powers That Be don’t like their lowly scribes to do), I’ll indulge you with a quick story from the few days I spent away from Blacksburg.

While home in Upstate New York for a long weekend—where, between obligatory family time, I spent a great afternoon at The Greatest Sporting Venue In America—I did a radio interview with a station interested in talking about Virginia Tech football. The station was in Hawaii. Yep, Hawaii.

Guess that goes to show how many people across the nation—and even in foreign countries like Hawaii—will be paying attention to the Hokies this season. Surprisingly, the host didn’t ask any questions about 4/16, as I figured he would. We mostly just talked about the usual stuff: Glennon’s footspeed, Hall’s and Adibi’s impact, the LSU game. The show’s producer was really nice—even though the interview took place at 12:15 p.m. Eastern time, 6:15 a.m. Hawaii time—and even said “Aloha” after thanking me for being on the show.

I’ll have more for you guys later—on Matt Wright, Cam Martin and an answer to Fred’s question. I have to run and get Comcast to set up my Internet now. Been filing these missives from PK’s, which now has wireless, in addition to excellent wing bites.
