Second, while fishing through my recorder this morning, I came across the best quote I got this preseason. It’s from Vince Hall, who’s always willing to say what’s on his mind, even if his analogies hit a touchy topic. Here’s what Hall said on the first day of practice, as the Michael Vick dogfighting nonsense was in full swing: “Right now, we’re feeling real good on defense. But you can never feel yourself too much because that’s when the dog will come bite you.“

Last, a movie recommendation: Do NOT see “Balls of Fury.“ I went last night with a couple of fellow hacks, and this thing is cinematic tripe on par with “Jury Duty” and “Dumb and Dumberer.“ However, I might go check out that Tech football documentary at the Lyric Theater here on Friday night. If I do, I’ll let you guys know what I think.
