7:50—A good rendering of The National Anthem

Jun 28, 2008

An Air Force band took us through The National Anthem and did it well. Would have liked to hear the trumpet solo hit the high notes after “land of the free.“

We were also led in the Pledge of Allegiance, and our leader muffed that ever so slightly. No matter. We all know it anyway.

Does the IRL introduce their drivers individually to the crowds of race fans during pre-race activities like NASCAR?

If so, who gets the most resounding cheers and the most notable “boos”?

I’m curious, after the first 15 laps, what’s the average speed of the race? (tongue-in-cheek)
