Man fatally shot in Richmond’s Jackson Ward Richmond police are investigating a homicide that took place early this morning in the Jackson Ward neighborhood. Shortly after 3 a.m., police were called to the 00 block of West Marshall Street, between North Adams and First streets, where they found Levon R. Alford, 24, shot on the sidewalk. Alford, who lived in the 2500 block of Merle Street in Henrico County, was taken to VCU Medical Center, where he died just before 5 a.m. Detectives are looking into the possibility of robbery as a motive, police said.
