Arrests made in 2 homicides / Richmond men accused in slayings city police say appear drug-related Arrests made in separate homicides Authorities yesterday announced that they had arrested two Richmond men wanted in separate city homicides. David M. Ellis, 18, of the 3000 block of Garland Avenue, was arrested Monday hours after police found a man dead in a car from a gunshot wound in North Richmond. Police identified the victim yesterday as Kelvin R. Green, 38, of Highland Springs. Green died after he was shot in a car in the 2900 block of Third Avenue shortly after 3 p.m., police said. Police said their initial investigation indicates that the killing was drug-related. Ellis also is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and possession with intent to distribute drugs. He was jailed without bond.
“We will continue to aggressively investigate and combat these random acts of violence that are associated with the drug trade,” Venuti said. Also, Richmond police and U.S. marshals on Monday captured a man wanted in a March 31 homicide in the city. They arrested Dontrey Michael Anderson, 21, of the 3000 block of Edgewood Avenue, at the Knights Inn motel in the Glen Allen area of Henrico County. Anderson was charged with conspiracy to commit murder in a shooting that injured a woman and killed Everett Fairbanks Adams, 56, in the 600 block of Henrico Boulevard. Police believe that shooting also was drug-related. |
