Hopewell police investigate fatal shooting of man
Hopewell police are investigating the city’s second homicide of the year after a young man was fatally shot Tuesday night while standing next to his vehicle, authorities said.
Investigators don’t believe Calvin was shot from a passing vehicle. McQuage said police don’t have a suspect description. The slaying is Hopewell’s second of the year. On June 3, a 27-year-old city man was fatally shot outside his apartment in the 100 block of South 16th Avenue. The victim, Mitchell McBee, was shot in the abdomen when he apparently confronted an intruder who tried to break into his roommate’s truck. His slaying remains unsolved. Anyone with information about either killing can call Hopewell/Prince George Crime Solvers at (804) 541-2202 or Hopewell police at (804) 541-2222. - Mark Bowes |
