Obama’s Early Days
Bart Hinkle
Oct 28, 2008

What’s interesting about these bits is not so much Obama’s gravitation toward Marxist profs and structural feminists, but the calculation behind the gravitation. Received wisdom holds that college is supposed to be a time of intellectual exploration and discovery, a period when students are supposed to mix with people whose perspectives are sharply different from their own (that’s the whole idea behind diversity, isn’t it?).

Yet Obama embraced the reigning orthodoxy of campus leftism, going so far as to pick his friends on the basis of their politics. Wouldn’t it have been far more audacious to seek out friends regardless of their politics—or at least to look for some among, say, conservative Christians, advocates of gun rights, and proponents of free enterprise? Assuming, of course, there were any to be found?

We need Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, and Frank now.  So the Middle Class has been defined downward from $250,000, to 200,000, to 150,000, to 120,000 by Obama and his supporters recently?  Democrats have long been known for their tax cutting policies.  Who cares if Obama and Dodd were the top two recipients of Fannie Mae campaign contributions?  So what if the Democratic Congress didn’t lift a finger in the last two years to take steps to prevent this crisis?  Repeat after me.  Bush’s “deregulation” is at fault(the fact there was little to no financial “deregulation” under Bush is irrelevant).  So what if high taxes kill jobs?  Who cares about Joe the Plumber anyway?  Good Socialists must “spread the wealth”.  Raising taxes on job creators in an economic crisis is also wise policy because we need to unify the nation by feeding our emotional desire to punish the rich.  The Democratic Party’s fame for supporting drilling and nuclear power is legendary.  And how could Obama possibly have known what was going on in Jeremiah Wright’s church when he was only there for 20 years?  So what if Obama has ties to a vote fraud organization(ACORN)?  So what if Obama broke his pledge to only use public financing?

You might find “Barticles” more to your taste.

Tobacco subsidies are a necessary evil much the same as farm subsidies.

Denver is a beautiful city but I found the air a little too
rarefied for me.

We are a little more “down to earth” here in the South. It must be the humidity it tends to humble a person.

We are also very genteel and hospitable so please feel free to
drop back anytime y’all.

Just listened to Mr. Hinkle on PBS this evening.
Just read the one and only post on any of his blogs.

Reinforces my gratefulness for having been born anywhere but the “South.“

How do you feel about tobacco subsidies???

I started researching Barack Obama in 2004 after his inspirational speech at the Democratic National Convention.
Initially I was enamored and inspired. Very initially. This article validates all I have been concerned about for four years.

Barack Obama’s introduction to socialism and Marxism started long before he got to college. Actually at his mother’s knee.
Stanley Ann Dunham considered herself a “fellow traveler” as early as high school. She married and divorced one Marxist and one socialst. An educated guess would lead one to assume that she embraced both philosophies and her son would have been at least exposed at an early age.

Barack’s grandfather introduced him as a young teen to Frank Marshall Davis. A member of the Communist party in Hawaii and a well known activist. Mr Davis became a mentor and substitute father to the young impressionable Obama. From that time on he sought out and associated with a long series of radicals. Religious, social and otherwise.

I notice that this article like all the others I have read relies heavily on Obama’s own words. He has literally written his own history. It is almost impossible to find even the most mundane documents pertaining to his birth, his parents marriage and divorce. This is a man who has micro engineered every facet of his life. He and his agent, handler, David Axelrod have managed to close every door behind him.

In the media the last few days the name of Rashid Khalidi has popped up. A man with very close ties to the PLO and a very good friend to William Ayers. Mr. Ayers thanked Mona Khalidi in his book for her friendship and help while he was writing the book. Mr. Khalidi and his wife are very close friends with the Obama’s. One does not have to rely on the LA times to find photographs of the couples socializing together.

The ties are all there. The Chandoo brothers. Bernadine Dorn and Mona Khalidi and Michelle Obama. Ali Abunimah, Khalidal Mansour and George Soros. Radicals all. Is it all sinister and suspect? I don’t know. But I do think that somebody, anybody should have investigated more closely. America knows nothing about this man except what he has written about himself. Talk about a pig in a poke. Try putting lipstick on that one.
