The Hancock Village shopping center in Chesterfield County is coming to life.
A McDonald’s restaurant is scheduled to open at the center July 29 and Wal-Mart, Hancock Village’s largest tenant, is scheduled to open Aug. 19.
A LongHorn Steakhouse began serving customers in May.
The 500,000-square foot shopping center is on Hull Street Road, at Winterpock Road, just east of the Woodlake residential community.
When it’s completed, the center is expected to house a Bed Bath & Beyond and a J.C. Penney. The two tenants are slated to open next year.
Other tenants will include Qdoba Mexican Grill, Mattress Warehouse, Starbucks, Jersey Mike’s and Osaka Sushi & Steak.
The McDonald’s is owned by Dave Traub, who owns two others in Chesterfield, two in Richmond — including in Carytown — and one in Amelia.
The restaurant is scheduled to host a grand opening event Aug. 8.
Construction on the Hancock Village Wal-Mart has been completed and the store is getting stocked.
It’ll be the retailer’s 12th store in the Richmond area.

Like we need another Japanese Steak House, chain sandwich shop, Mexican place, and coffee joint in that shopping center. I agree with you Annette…

Why, oh why, is it so difficult to secure decent shops such as a real deli, book store, Mom and Pop restaurant, i.e., something that resembles shops in the affluent sections of Midlothian??
